Unknown Lathes & Other Machine Tools
- and how to search lathes.co.uk -
Do you recognise them ? If you do, please email the writer

If you are trying to identify a lathe or other machine too, try the dedicated lathes.co.uk-only Google Search Box below. Put into the box any unusual or distinguishing feature of your machine, e.g. "round bed", twin-bar bed", "long top slide", "cantilever bed", "helical backgears", "central leadscrew", "flange-mounted motor", "pivoting head", "fine down-feed" "16 t.p.i.", "dial control", "worm-and-wheel" - or something similar. The first few hits are Google third-party advertisements, scroll past these (or click on one if you wish, it helps to fund the Machine Tool Archive) and you'll reach your search results. You never know, you might just get lucky. If unsure about names of parts, see this section of the website.
Should you not find an answer, just send some clear, close-up, high resolution pictures taken from all around your tidied-up machine to: tony@lathes.co.uk. Should you not receive a reply in one or two days' time, it's simply that our email load has, once more, been overwhelming. In that case you are welcome to phone: 01298-871633 or from overseas: +44-1298-872874

If you have a Mystery Lathe and would like it added to the Archive, just send a set of clear photographs - preferably taken against an uncluttered background - to tony@lathes.co.uk

Identified lathes are sometimes removed (hence some pages may be blank) and content is also altered from time to time. If you have any comments or suggestions about the unknown lathes, please do make contact.
