SOLD: Cowells miniature precision milling machine with many extras and a number of useful refinements: original pulleys replaced by others to suit a stronger and smaller type of belting resulting in a much more quiet (and stronger) machine.  Micrometer dials added to the handwheels ; the dials can be turned ( and thus set to zero) independent from the handwheels.  A strong spring for the quill down-feed, eliminating backlash. Provision for stop screws left and right on the top slide.  Original control board replaced by a Lenze ( a top quality German brand). The accessories include :

Cowells collets 3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 mm. Cowells drill chucks 0-4 mm and 0-8 mm. An improved Cowells machine vice and Cowells angle plate. Professionally-made dividing attachment including 9 Swiss Aciera division plates 50-59-60-62-72-90-96-110-180.  A number of professionally (much finer than Cowells) made items: boring arbor; saw arbor to suit saws with different hole sizes; cutter arbor for 7 mm hole cutters ( like Thornton) and a very fine miniature dividing table (useful for e.g. crossing out wheels). One grub screw needs to be replaced; there is some play in the spindle of the dividing attachment (thus far compensated by a brass strip between spindle and the body), and the top slide shows up a few minor marks which do not interfere with the accuracy of the machine. Price 1750 GBP. Note : new price at the moment 2600 GBP without the important accessories mentioned under (d) and (e). The machine is in the Netherlands but at an extra cost (150 GBP) I am happy to bring it across the Channel (or elsewhere in Europe within 600 km from my place) Pictures of the Cowells miller for sale here and details of Cowells machines here
