Although pages in this section show a representative selection of Hendey machine tools, the following list gives a good indication of when a particular machine was introduced. The number remained assigned to the model long after it had gone out of production - or until the number was reassigned to a new design. When W.P. Norton (of Norton screwcutting gearbox fame) joined the firm in 1886, a new number was allocated if an improvement was made to an older design - an explanation as to why the same type of machine is sometimes found listed against different numbers. This is not intended as a detailed study of the Hendey products but a list of those made from 1870 to the 1920s.
