This very simple, plain-turning precision bench lathe is from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and would have been driven by a round leather rope. No micrometer dials are fitted - but the headstock was fitted for both draw-in collets and, with a spindle-nose thread, the mounting of conventional chucks.
