The massive construction of the cast-iron stand is clearly evident in this picture. Note the oil tank, used to supply a constant supply of lubricant to the headstock and screwcutting gearbox, mounted at the side of the electric motor; the oil filter is bolted to the outside face of the headstock just above and to the left of the spindle.

A single gear on the quadrant arm could be changed to add a range of Module and DP threads to the English and metric threads available from the gearbox.
