The "British Bronson" geared motor was specially designed for the Bormilathe by Mr. Murad and manufactured in his factory. It featured not only interchangeable gearing, but an eccentric adjustment of the belt tension to accommodate the changes in height of the headstock as it was wound up and down its supporting column.
