The first owner economised by not specifying the short but useful cast-iron bed feet

Handles and dials were from the ML7 but everything else was different. Happily the makers insisted on fitting a proper compression lock to the tailstock barrel

No fancy eccentric mount--the backgear was carried on slotted bracket at the rear of the headstock. Note the full-size "A" section V-belt

With no tumble-reverse fitted the only way of generating left-hand threads was to mount an extra changewheel in a slotted bracket behind the spindle
