Edmund Luthy Watchmaker's Lathe

Luthy Precision Drill Press

Luthy Milling Machine & Home Page

Seldom found, the Swiss-made Luthy watchmaker's lathe accepted 8 mm collets in the headstock and was of the traditional light Geneva pattern with a round bed with a flat at the back. The usual range of accessories was available, the first example shown having a full compound slide-rest assembly and the standard hand T-rest..
Luthy was founded in 1916 by Edmond Luthy as a precision machine shop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the watchmaking heart of Switzerland in the Jura mountains to the north-east of Geneva. After branching out into the manufacture of watchmaking equipment, watch lathes, sensitive drills and other small machine tools. Today, as a third-generation family-owned business, they specialise in the supply and sale of Swiss-made and other high-quality engineering products.
