Froriep Vertical Lathes & Boring Mills

Continued on Page 2 (of 2)

A Manual is available for the Foriep DS

Based in Rheydt, Germany, Froriep were best known for their specialised machine tools that included vertical lathes, coping lathes, boring mills and wheel disc and boring machines. While all could be employed for a variety of general engineering purposes , they were often to be found (fitted with copying equipment and automatic controls), in the manufacture of railway wheels - the hubs and tyres. A number of models was offered, some for general-purpose use, others of a more specialised nature for use in production with the catalogue extracts below showing a number of typical examples. Further down the page is a set of photographs, taken at an unknown location, that show Froriep machines in use.
