The writer is lost on this lathe, a "DAVLA". If you can help with details of the maker, etc. he would be very grateful
Clearly by a machine tool manufacture rather than something badged by a dealer or distributor  (in which case the name would have been on the easily-changed door an the headstock-end plinth) the lathe has the look of a machine designed during the period 1900 to 1920.
