Founded in 1905, by 1912 Cazeneuve was specialising in high quality, medium-sized lathes, a type that that they still manufacture today in two factories, one located at Pont-Eveque, (south east of Lyon) and the other in Albert, near Lille, in northern France. Because Cazeneuve machines have always been of the very expensive, super-precision type, impressively detailed and made from top-quality materials assembled with great care, the name is little known outside professional engineering circles - although it certainly deserves wider recognition. The Type "HB" lathes illustrated below were all products of the 1950s - and if any reader has pictures and data for earlier, especially pre-WW2 models, the writer would be pleased to hear from
