High-resolution pictures - may take time to open

A well-preserved, heavier Buck lathe mounted on particularly elegant cast-iron legs and fitted with treadle drive. The headstock is of the sliding-spindle type, with chase screwcutting by a "star" master thread, fitted with six different pitches, that was rotated to bring each into engagement.
The front face of the headstock pulley was drilled with five circles of holes for division purposes.

The original saw bench with its bronze fence

The slide rest is from an Edward Hines - another classic, British-made precision lathe

Some of the tooling found with the lathe is stamped Holtzapffel

The central item - between the faceplates -  is an early form of fixed steady

The callipers are stamped "J Buck"
