Hello Tony
After a long silence, I can now send you the final set of pictures, including the fitted wooden box I have constructed to hold many of the parts - the box has been made to work like a suitcase and I still need to make a suitable handle, though I have not yet found an elegant solution. There are still a few minor details to attend to on the grinde r (for example to mount it on a wooden board) and the project will be done; I think I can now say this will be the definitive version.
You were waiting for about my comments on the grinder in use and I can report that I have discovered three main problems. Firstly, the right-hand base is too weak and then the micrometer dial at the end is turned, the base flexes. However, if one avoids this there is no influence on the work. Secondly, the 150 Watt motor is not powerful enough and possibly one of 200 or 250 Watts would be better. Thirdly, it depends of the working conditions, but the workhead with any item on, if it passes the center of gravity of the front bar, can fall down onto the table...very unpleasantand you can break something or hurt your hands (it is heavy). The solution will be to mount a counter weight on the rocking lever to achieve a good balance of the work - it is in my drawer.…
Overall, the machine itself is very precise; the lift control of the column is really
helpful to find the centre and to know the exact travel up and down. The accessory to carry a big twist drill is very comfortable in use and there are many possible combinations when using the shaft of the spiralling attachment; for example, when employing smaller diameter or long drills. The dust covers have proved very efficient and after a long period of use there is no mess between the base bars and the head. The rest of the machine is happiness for, to be able to take old and forgotten blunt side and face cutters, end mills, twist drills and lathe tools, etc,  and make them as new again is wonderful! I have not tried taps and dies yet--but will look forward to making some interesting experiments.
This project has been so interesting and I am very sad to arrive at the end....
Dear Tony, please accept my gratitude for putting this machine on your beautiful site.
All my best,
Fred in France.

High-speed spindle attachment - the final major item to be made. The grinder is now complete, with all functions working, and just a few minor accessories such as a die-holder to be made

Graduated dial with a neatly constructed zero-position indicator
