Azeta, with a factory in Legnano and head offices in Milan, were manufactures of centre lathes and boring mills. Their 1960s and 1970s lathe range consisted of very sturdily built industrial machines, the smallest of which was the Mediorapid Super 180 of 180mm (7")centre height and available with between-centres capacities of 800 and 1500mm (31.5" and 59".) The 58mm bore spindle (236") could be spun under the influence of a 5HP motor at twelve different speeds ranging from a low of 26 to a high of 1250 rpm. The bed was provided with a detachable gap - with a swing capacity of 600mm (26.3"). A hydraulic-copying attachment and digital read-out system were on the options' list. The larger lathes, all fitted with detachable gap beds, were designated with a TMR prefix and consisted of machines with centre heights of 200, 230, 250, 300 and 350mm - the centre height being taken as the model number. The TMR 200 Super was available with between-centre distances of of 100, 1500 and 2000mm whilst the rest of the range offered the choice of 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000 and 4000mm (59", 79", 98", 118" and 157"). In addition, the TMR 250 could be ordered in a short bed, 1000mm version. Spindle speeds varied between the models, being: TMR 200 Super 12 speeds from 25 to 2000 rpm - spindle bore 60mm (2.4") - swing in gap 640mm TMR 230 Super 12 or 24 speeds 13 - 2000 rpm - spindle bore 60mm - swing in gap 700mm TMR 250 12 speeds 21 - 1600 rpm - spindle bore 60mm - swing in gap 730mm TMR 250 Super 12 speeds 25 - 1500 rpm - spindle bore 75mm (3") - swing in gap 800mm TMR 300 12 speeds 21 - 1600 rpm - spindle bore 60mm - swing in gap 830mm TMR 300 Super 12 speeds 25 -1500 rpm - spindle bore 75mm - swing in gap 900mm TMR 350 16 speeds 17 - 1500 rpm - spindle bore 75mm - swing in gap 930mm TMR 350 Super 12 speeds 25-1500 rpm - spindle bore 75mm - swing in gap 1000mm
