Manufactured by a company better known for woodworking machines and comprising six machine tools in one, the Maquina Multiple consisted of a backgeared and screwcutting lathe as the basic component, with the addition of a horizontal miller, a power hacksaw, a drill press, a double-ended grinder and, rather oddly, an air compressor. Although possibly a useful machine in a small workshop, or an a ship, the Maquina lacked the ultimate versatility of several other similar industrial-class types, for example the English Adcock & Shipley Universal which added a universal grinder; ; the Japanse Dainichi with a shaper; the French Siome Covema (S.I.O.M.E.), the German Leinweber and vintage-style Fuchs; the Austrian Krause and the Kitchen & Wade
