With the Vertical Slide (PR6) carrying the Quill (V8), and the headstock moved forwards on the bed, room is made to mount the Dividing Index (M27) and allow the grinding of flutes in a small tap.

The Live Spindle shown fitted with a dividing index - the cutter being mounted in the headstock spindle. The combination of Vertical Slide and Live Spindle was known as the "Milling and Grinding Attachment V11".
