LATHE BOOKS
These are the three most useful and comprehensive publications about the lathe and lathe work - essential reading for the beginner and also the more experienced model and experimental engineer - and I can recommend all.
"The Amateur's Lathe"
"The Care & Operation of a Lathe"
"The Amateur's Workshop"

The two Lathe Books are full of useful information, hints, tips and advice. Most small lathes are remarkably similar in their operating procedures - what is really important is to know the trick of getting the very best out of them
The Workshop Book extends its coverage to a multitude of workshop tasks and processes - wonderful information, especially if you have not tacked a particular job before - again presented in an easy-to-follow fashion.

UK:
"The Amateur's Lathe"  £11.65 including post and packing
"The Care & Operation of a Lathe" (Print or CD) £16 including post and packing
"The Amateur's Workshop"  £11.66 including post and packing

Europe:
"The Amateur's Lathe" £12.65 including post and packing
The Care & Operation of a Lathe" (Print or CD) £17 including Post & Packing
"The Amateur's Workshop" £12.65 including post and packing

USA & Rest of World:
"The Care & Operation of a Lathe" £17 including post and packing
"The Amateur's Workshop" £14 GBP including Post and Packing
"The Amateur's Workshop" £14 GBP including post and packing

Hello Tony,
What an unbelievably well-developed web site - so much information in one place and such a wonderful mixture of the technical and historical, I really do not know how you have done it. Now that we have to wait for each section to become available during the week it was great to receive the CDs and be able to look things up instantly and browse away to my heart's content. Not that I want it to of course, but if the
www.lathes.co.uk site ever goes off line, I'll have a valuable collector's item in those CDs !
Many, many thanks,
Cliff in the USA

Tony,
What an incredible Archive - and so wonderful to be able to load it up and browse through all the amazing pictures without the delay of having to download them.
I have copied the DVD onto my hard drive and, because it now really flies, I am exploring the amazing detail within some of the pages for the first time.
Thanks for all your hard work in making it possible.
Good luck,
Buck Williams.

Dear Tony,

I received my lathes DVD this morning. Thank you for such quick service. I've already had a couple of hours browsing it!
Your site has helped me in the past, I restore both metal and woodworking machines as a hobby. The photos have helped in making missing parts from time to time.
Thank you for making the site such a great resource for people like me.
Mike Fotherby.

Dear Tony
Many thanks for the copy of the excellent Machine Tool Archive DVD, which provides a wonderful resource.
Best,
Ben Helprin

Dear Tony,

Enclosed my cheque for your DVD.
Terrific information on your website - which alone justifies the existence of the Internet.
Best regards,
Jeff Gearing
