Almost certainly the unit supplied "to special order" by the American agents for Wade CAV, the Gerold Company of New York City, the two pictures below show a small top slide that has been skilfully fitted to the milled-down cross slide of a Wade to produce a useful compound-slide assembly; the unit would have made the lathe much easier to use.
