OK, so 5 foot 1 inch Bill Symmonds from accounts was getting pretty fed up with being dragged from his comfortable office down to the hell and hammering of the shop floor and made to wear those dreadfully smelly overalls and flat cap belonging to Derek Hacking - and all to make the larger of the Niles-Bement-Pond planers look bigger than they really were - as if they wern't big enough already.  Still, the photographer's sister was quite a flapper, and it gave him a bit of leverage for those Saturday night dance dates ………..
