Little known - because it appears to have never been advertised--the Hercus "universal" miller was a small but heavily-built machine and sold exclusively to Government departments, training schools and similar organisations. The horizontal and vertical spindles were No. 3 Morse taper, the table movements approximately 14-inches longitudinally, 6-inches in traverse and 12-inches vertically. Each miller was supplied complete with a beautiful little indexing head made by Hercus. If you have one of these machines the writer would be interested to hear from you.
