Optional "Independent Overhead Spindle" - a Ram-type" enclosed-motor, all-geared vertical head that could be left in place and used to support the standard drop-bracket used for horizontal milling.This very useful accessory was available in two forms, with 3 or 5 h.p. motors, each offered with a choice of four speed ranges, set at the time of ordering: 50-750; 75-1125; 100-1500 and 150 to 2250 r.p.m. Both fixed and sliding quill versions were listed, with former being double-jointed and able to be swivelled 360° both parallel and square to the axis of the table. Electrical control was through a swinging pendant.
