Myford ML4 Lathe

SOLD: Myford ML4 lathe 3.5" x 23". A late model with gap-bed, backgear, screwcutting and fitted with the later ML7 thread on the spindle nose. Mounted on the maker's stand with the rare built-on countershaft. Complete with a range of original accessories--some very rare: tumble-reverse to the leadscrew drive; 6-station cross-slide mount capstan unit, swivelling vertical milling slide with the original Myford vice and one other; Narrow-body 3-jaw chuck, Burnerd 3-jaw ring-scroll chuck and a Burnerd 4-jaw chuck; travelling steady; a comprehensive collection of screwcutting changewheels; a good selection of turning, boring tools and knurling tools including a number of the quickly-adjustable Myford "Boat" type; two faceplates; two Myford angle plates; two tailstock chucks; 2-way, rear and standard toolposts. The carriage drive has been modified with an intermediate gear to give a finer hand feed; the travel of the cross slide extended to make it more useful for use with a vertical milling slide and there are two spare V-belt pulleys for headstock and countershaft. 1-phase motor with Dewhurst reversing switch. Also included is a complete compound slide-rest assembly--probably from a Britannia or similar vintage lathe. £325
