Another model sometimes found carrying the Bridgeport badge, the Adcock & Shipley Model 1ES-AH was designed for very fast auto-cycle work where a fast cycle time was more important than a heavy cut. Twin air cylinders, connected to a compressed air supply, provided a rapid traverse of 400"/minute with a hydraulic cylinder to control the feed when under cut. The rate of feed was infinitely variable between 0.25" and 120" per minute and the twelve spindle speeds varied between 250 and 2500 rpm. So that the operator could not trip the cycle into action accidentally, both hands on the controls were needed to initiate it.
