Auxiliary base in place. This was used as a mounting for the grinding machine and lathe and was bolted to the main base with hex-headed socket screws. Fabricated, like the main base, from heavy steel plates joined together with full-length fillet welds the underside edges, and all other mating surfaces, were planed flat.
